2011 san francisco
up in norcal (san jose specifically) for a pal's wedding in mid-july.
visited a museum and took a ton of food pr0n pics. the cam is amazingly good at food pr0n pic taking.

a few minutes after airborne. almost missed the flight due to napping.

just above the cloud cover. quilted northern anyone?

san jose's new airport. swanky modern.

some tech gadgetry thingie. this is silicon valley after all.

island between the aiport and the parking structure where you wait for public transportation.
i had to taxi it to the nearest caltrain.

zeh legion of honor. colorless sky cuz it was gloomy out.

in case you dont believe me, heres proof that i went honorable.

omg i lurve that ceiling.

we were here specifically to see the mosaic from lod. except for the small white patch, it was found pretty intact. amazing.

no one does floors like this anymore(!).

a footprint speculated to be from the original artisan(s).

the place was chock fulla rodins. i like the shadow play of this one.

no clue who this is. imma terrible at noting down artist and titles.

back of this dudes head is hollow. as in lookit i can stick my face into it(!) type of hollow.

seriously love the brushwork here. just a few curves and lines and voila! chunky monkish people.

she sells you know what by the sea shore.

so effing cute. can someone make plushies of those puppies please?

still totally in lurve with persian art.

lunch at the legion of honor cafe. that coke bottle is all sorts of awesome.

my quiche thingie from the cafe.
salad was excellent -- lightly seasoned and so, so crisp.
the quiche was meh.

the wedding ceremony locale: cinnabar hills golf club. purty.

fruit salad from the wedding reception. i heart spinach.

surprisingly delish entre. most reception food is blech but they had good stuff at this venue.

i liked the centerpieces. in fact, i liked the decor of the wedding overall -- nothing fussy, just elegant and clean.

flowers from D to N (use of initials to protect from the crazies). that hot pink is super fab.

stayed at hotel drisco again. always loved these little niches that are tucked into either side of the check in.

tilted photo of the lobby at drisco.

crossing the street to get to the ferry building. for fooding(!!).

got an outside table at the hog island oyster company. hence, a spectacular view and super fresh air.

clam chowder. more brothy than chowdery but damn those potatos were melted into the soup. LOVE.

baked oysters. whats not to love.

oyster sampler plus two dozen sweetwaters. on ice. with finely diced shallots drowned in vinegar.
yieah. i'll be coming back.

gumbo. w00t!!
